The crowns fit over your existing teeth, called abutment teeth, to hold the pontic in place. In the case of implant-supported bridges, the prosthetic bridge will be supported by a dental implant, offering it better stability, strength, and longevity.
Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are one of the most common restorations used to replace damaged tooth structures. Designed to be a permanent restoration, dental crowns replace the entire visible portion of the tooth above the gum line. Typically, dental crowns are fitted to teeth that have lost a lot of their structure. But, in the case of missing teeth, the dental implant will be placed in the jawbone, and the replacement crown will be attached to it using dental adhesives.

Many patients find that after receiving an implant, they can return to all normal activities, such as brushing, flossing, and eating the same foods they enjoyed prior to their tooth loss. However, dental implants require the same oral hygiene regimen as natural teeth. This means maintaining regular checkups and cleanings, as well as brushing and flossing daily.
